Account

An optional gray.alignment.id account: log a machine in with a one-time code, see who you are, and log out. Nothing in Gray is gated on it.

Source: crates/gray/src/account.rs

gray.alignment.id hosts the plugin registry and your console. An account is not required to run Gray, and no provider needs one — the token only names you on registry calls, such as publishing a plugin.

bash
$gray login # walks you through it, then prompts for the code
$gray login <code> # same, non-interactive
$gray whoami # who the stored token belongs to
$gray logout # revoke the token, then forget it

Mint a code at gray.alignment.id/account. It is one-time and expires in five minutes. The token lands in ~/.gray/registry-token.json (mode 0600). /login, /whoami and /logout work inside the REPL too, and all of them work before any provider is configured.

Point Gray at a local registry with GRAY_REGISTRY_URL=http://127.0.0.1:4000/api.
